About Project
The set ambition of our education department is to leave no child behind especially where their education is concerned. It is for this reason that the learning on the go programme was created, to cater to the educational needs of children in communities who are not able to access formal schools for a myriad of reasons including a lack of foundational numeracy and literacy skills that allows them to thrive in a formal school. The Learning on the go programme is a community based programme that has catered to equipping 500 boys and girls aged 11 – 14 years in Sulumri, Fulatari, Gwozari 1, Gwozari 2, and Mairi communities of Borno state.
Each batch of 100 pupils undergo six months of intensive learning sessions, after which they are transitioned into mainstream private schools that are accessible to them in their communities. Neem Foundation supports these children by providing essential learning materials like uniforms and bags, ensuring a smooth transition into formal education.
What Beneficiaries Say
“When I joined the Learning on the Go Programme years ago, I couldn’t read or write, especially after surviving the conflict in Borno State. The classes helped me and my friends learn how to spell, read, and write. I am now a student of the Lafiya Sarari Programme, and the skills I gained prepared me to excel in my studies.”
- Binta
“The programme has played a huge role in reducing illiteracy in our communities and creating the possibility for a brighter future through education. Teaching children who are survivors of conflict leaves a lasting experience in our hearts.”
