About Project

Common Threads is a trauma-informed creative therapy project designed for survivors of gender-based violence, displacement, or chronic stress. It provides a safe, supportive space for emotional healing through textile arts—such as embroidery, fabric journaling, and communal stitching—allowing participants to share their experiences in non-verbal and symbolic ways.

This initiative draws on the power of storytelling, peer connection, and tactile expression to restore confidence, reclaim narratives, and promote long-term recovery. Each participant contributes to a shared tapestry that represents both individual resilience and collective healing.

Project Objectives
  • Provide a safe, culturally sensitive healing space for trauma survivors
  • Use creative expression to support emotional regulation and identity rebuilding
  • Strengthen peer support networks through group-based sessions
  • Break isolation and empower survivors to engage in community life

  • Group Discussions & Peer Support: Safe, moderated sharing circles following creative activities
  • Exhibitions & Community Showcases: Optional public or closed-door displays of completed textile pieces to celebrate participants’ journeys
  • Referrals & Continued Support: Participants needing further care are linked to Neem’s broader MHPSS services or external providers
