Our Story

From a Dining Table to a Movement of Change

Neem Foundation began as a simple yet powerful idea—a vision to bring hope and healing to those affected by conflict and trauma. In 2015, five passionate individuals gathered around a dining table, driven by a shared mission: to provide psychological support, promote peace, and foster resilience in fragile communities. A few months later, in 2016, Neem Foundation was officially incorporated, marking the beginning of a journey that has since transformed thousands of lives.

What started as a small initiative has grown into a leading crisis response organization with over 100 dedicated team members working across multiple states in Nigeria. Our programs have expanded from grassroots interventions to large-scale impact, addressing mental health, education, peacebuilding, and gender inclusion.

Our flagship project, Counseling on Wheels, was the first step in bringing psychological support directly to the people who needed it most. Recognizing the lack of mental health infrastructure in conflict-affected regions, we deployed mobile units to provide trauma counseling, psychotherapy, and psychosocial support to survivors of insurgency and violence. This groundbreaking initiative laid the foundation for what Neem Foundation would become—a pioneer in mental health and peacebuilding efforts in Nigeria.

Through innovation, partnerships, and a deep commitment to community-led solutions, we continue to expand our reach, delivering interventions that not only heal but also empower individuals and entire communities.
