Our education Approach

Value-Based Education

Neem Foundation developed a value-based curriculum as well as an implementation framework and training documents to provide a sustainable approach to imbuing core values into the educational system. The curriculum is an adaptation of the 9-years national basic education curriculum of Nigeria. In the content and delivery of the curriculum, implementation of activities and programs, these eight values are reinforced into the ethos of the school: Integrity, Honesty, Respect, Tolerance, Justice, Faith, Unity & Peace.

Results

84.1% of beneficiaries reported a heightened sense of respect for others, vs 59% among non-beneficiaries.
61.3% of beneficiaries demonstrated greater tolerance towards others, vs 45.4% among non-beneficiaries.
79.6% of beneficiaries expressed a commitment to fairness and justice, vs 54.5% among non-beneficiaries.
97.7% beneficiaries perceived the importance of community peace in achieving personal goals of acknowledging its significance, vs 68.2% of non-beneficiaries.
The development and implementation of a value-based curriculum changed the motivation and worldview of the girls exposed to the interventions.
